Hosting: How do I link to pages or images?

Your home page hosting account can have multiple images and HTML pages in it. To connect these pages, you use Hyper links (the "H" in HTML). To allow your visitors to find the different pages, they need to be linked to from other pages within your home page.

Step by Step Instructions:

Linking HTML pages

  1. In your HTML page, use something like <a href="filename.html">Text to show as link</a> where filename.html is the actual name of the file you've uploaded.
  2. The filename that you use is case sensitive, so please ensure that your filename and link match exactly. Myfile.html and myFile.html are not the same.
  3. Use the PREVIEW link to test your links.

Linking to image files

  1. In your HTML page, use <img src="/images/imagefile.jpg">. In this example, imagefile.jpg is the name of the picture file you have uploaded.
  2. The filename that you use is case sensitive, so please ensure that your filename and link match exactly. Mypic.jpg and mypic.jpg are not the same.
  3. Use the PREVIEW link to test your links.
